Aaand that's deviation number 200!
:icontreebone:
:iconjellylegsplz:

Line etching and aquatint. It almost killed my eyes. I'm extremely happy it turned well on the first try.

Edit:

Thank you for the DD and for the lovely comments!

There are too many faves to thank individually, so I'll simply thank you all here:

Thank you! :boogie:

Suggester says: "I think this is a great use of medium: winter is a perfect theme for monochrome, and the little details create a lot of ambience."

I always love it when prints turn out well on the first try.

Shame it doesn't always happen.

I love the look of etchings, and aquatinta especially, SO much! The birch tree, and the falling snow...beautiful! I really wish I had a printing press!

DA won't let me fav things at this moment for some reason, but I'd very much fav this if I could ^.^

Thank you very much! I wish too, I've seen that small tablemount ones needn't be extremely expensive, here at my uni there's great printing workshops, but I hope that I could even afford a small one in the future.

And no worries about the fav, I still prefer comments :D

I think my Dad would like to try out printing, so maybe I can talk him into getting a press, haha :D I suppose there might be used ones out there, I don't necessarily want a new one, as long as it works properly...

Yeah, definitely try to convince him. Hope you'll succeed in that, and find a reasonably priced press somewhere! (:

Gorgeous! The variation in texture, and color is amazing, as is the use of perspective. The trees are aspens, right? Eh, maybe I'm wrong about the type of tree, but they're great. I love the arch that they form. It looks like something from a cathedral.
I have no idea what aquatint is, or what kind of pain it causes, but I'd say that the effort was well worth it.

Thank you very much! The frontmost white tree is a birch, I don't really know about the others. . . (:

Aquatint is a form of etching, through which you can give whole surfaces a tone instead of using just lines.
